Leave Policies
Kuwait Labour Law aligned — Private Sector
Leave Entitlements — Kuwait Labour Law No. 6 of 2010
Annual Leave
30 calendar days per year after completing 1 year of service. Employees with less than 1 year receive pro-rated leave. Up to 15 days can be carried forward.
Sick Leave
Up to 15 days per year with full pay (first 6 months of continuous employment). Medical certificate required for leaves exceeding 2 consecutive days.
Emergency Leave
3 days per year for unforeseen personal emergencies. Can be applied same-day. Deducted from annual leave balance if emergency leave days are exhausted.
Hajj Leave
21 days once in the employee's career (under Kuwait Labour Law Article 70). Muslim employees only. Cannot be combined with annual leave.
Maternity Leave
70 days fully paid maternity leave (Article 23). Additional 4-month unpaid extension optional. Cannot be combined with annual leave during the period.
Paternity Leave
3 days fully paid paternity leave upon birth of a child. Must be taken within 30 days of the child's birth.
